American Traitor for Al-Qaeda Captured In Somalia

Al-Qaeda is now finding Americans (that don’t fit the 9/11 attackers’ profile) who are willing to be trained to blow themselves up and take as many of their fellow Americans as possible. (via FOX News)

An American citizen charged with receiving terrorist training at an Al Qaeda camp in Somalia — including classes in how to become a homicide bomber and “wage violent jihad” — was taken into custody by FBI agents and returned to the U.S. Monday night night, Justice Department officials told FOX News.

An indictment unsealed Tuesday by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Houston charges Daniel Joseph Maldanado, 28, a.k.a Daniel Aljughaifi, whose last known address was in Houston, with receiving training from a foreign terrorist organization and conspiring to use an explosive device outside the United States.

I am trying to track down some more information on Maldanado/Aljughaifi…. I have one lead I am pursuing already.  If anyone has any knowledge of this guy or his history, please email me.  For example, I wonder what political party (if any) he was registered with in the USA??

They should put this guy in front of a firing squad at Ground Zero in NYC.

**UPDATE**Is this Daniel’s blog?

  1. Bruce, I like the fact that our intelligence and law enforcement agencies appear to be working better together –despite what guys like CNN’s Lou Dobbs might think on a random day.

BTW, your target’s moniker is “danielaljughaifi”. I wonder if he knows about the lower-case-clan designation used here and on other blogs? Doubt it.

  2. Also - this name sounds familiar, at least to this Houstonian. I’ll do some searching on my end.

I also want to know - besides his political party affiliation - if he was in this country illegally? It is known now that al-Qaeda is taking advantage of our leaky southern border and is asking infiltrators to “mix in” with darker-skinned Latinos and pass themselves off as illegal aliens.

    Just a thought.

  3. Ah, here it is. Turns out that your initial hunch was correct about his blogspot.

Also - he is a naturalized US citizen. Just as I had suspected. Aljughaifi claims to be “half Puerto Rican and half white” and is “married to a black woman.” Nothing like diversity to make everyone happy.

No word yet as to whether or not he is going to join the Edwards campaign as their new blogger.

And remember - Islam is the religion of peace! (Sarcasm)

  4. Screw all that innocent until proven guilty stuff. That won’t fly in North Korea or Cuba, so why should we do it!?

  5. Max - Hear, hear. I mean, we sure didn’t do it with those 3 Duke students accused of rape so falsely either, right? So clearly, “innocent until proven guilty” is a value we (on the Left) have long discarded.

  6. #4 - Heaven forbid we should do that, MaxE. I mean, look at the poor innocent kid who opened fire on that Salt Lake City mall.

Just because he was a BOSNIAN MUSLIM with loads of AMMO in his backpack doesn’t mean that he was guilty, now does it?

    Checkmate.

  7. Marines among the attackers of the Yale group in San Francisco. Remember when you were going on and on about a gay bashing in liberal San Francisco. I’d love to hear more about what you think about marines attacking men they perceive to be gay. Because I know that you were not going to simply ignore the new information. Right?

  8. #7 - I bet those Marines were BOSNIAN MUSLIM immigrants who, furthermore, had loads of AMMO in their backpacks when they gay-bashed those singers.

Sure as hell doesn’t apply to our soldiers, does it?

I thought I was supposed to believe that folks in the military don’t care if you’re gay.

  11. [...] However, that does not mean he stopped engaging in thuggish intimidation. It really is not surprise to find more eliminationism rhetoric on GayPatriot’s site, this time targeting Maldanado. They should put this guy in front of a firing squad at Ground Zero in NYC. [...]

  12. #10 - Of course not, TGC. You can be as gay as you want in the military, but heaven forbid that you should be gay in the NBA.

Not as if there was anything wrong with it, huh?

Unlike some lower-case-libtrolls on this board, I personally know gay servicemen and trust me, you don’t want to intimate that their orientation makes them any less tough than “straight” soldiers.

And anyone who thinks that they are in any way not committed to the WOT is either ignorant or blindly partisan.

  13. Actually, Ken Garcia has an excellent take on the brouhaha concerning the Baker’s Dozen in today’s Examiner — including the part about the two attorneys involved likely running for office shortly, which would be greatly facilitated in military-hating and loathing San Francisco by a crusade against members of our armed forces.

For once, Kamala Harris may actually be doing something intelligent — like waiting for evidence — rather than giving into the cries of anti-military leftists and parents who, it seems, may be wishing to quickly shift blame away from their taunting offspring.

  14. Danny was a U.S. citizen. I went to high school with him. He was an aspiring rapper. He was a good kid back then. He was always a bit of a confused soul though. Never really seemed to know his place. I’m not sure what happened! I had last heard he had a baby and was a practicing muslim. I never thought he would take it that far though. He was really smart, funny, talented and a good friend. I very dissapointed and now hope he spends the rest of his life behind bars. He just can’t be trusted to walk our streets free now. It’s a sad story though for someboby who knew him well at one point.
